National Ice Hockey Officials Association, Maine Chapter

To join Maine NIHOA, applicants must: Have at least 3 years of officiating experience through another officiating organization (another NIHOA chapter, USA Hockey, NCAA, etc) Have 3 referrals, including one from a current Maine NIHOA member Satisfactorily pass a skating and preliminary evaluation (usually completed during the first week of pre-season tournaments) Complete the application and meet the background requirements as set forth by the Maine Principal's Association.

Maine Principals Association Ice Hockey Section

The Ice Hockey Committee shall be composed of five members representing a balance of geography and classification. Three members shall be active members or retired and two shall be athletic administrators.

NCAA Ice Hockey Rules of the Game

The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules have been designated as either administrative rules or conduct rules. Typically, administrative rules are those dealing with preparation for the competition. The conduct rules are those that have to do directly with the competition. Rules may not be altered, unless flexibility is indicated in a specific rule.
